Empty Your Head Of Tolerations

Tuesday’s blog talked about zoning out and getting into the screw you zone which is an ego based attack on the self which is based on a habit developed from a past mistaken belief that nothing is good enough or you are not good enough.

Zoning out and getting into the screw you zone along with the past mistaken belief that nothing is good enough or you are not good enough can easily be triggered by incompletions and tolerations in both your business and personal lives.

Today is the 7th working day of the 2nd quarter of 2009 and my blogs have been talking about how to make this the best quarter ever so that you can enjoy the summers months versus worrying all summer.

To help you with this I have written the following blogs;

In following through with this process, this is kind of like spring cleaning especially if you follow through with Empty Your Head.

You will find that there are things that are on your Empty Your Head list that are less than an A or B priority that are coulds and shoulds and they need to be discarded.

At the same time, if you look closely enough, there are things on the list that you are tolerating that must be fixed.

Here is an example; I have been tolerating my Motorola Razor cell phone since the day that I bought it. The 3 key and the off key seem to be so close together that I have to give it a number of tries to shut it off – this is especially frustrating when going on an airplane and I have resorted to taking the battery out to shut it off rather than fight with the key pad. The Bluetooth headset is another design nightmare. So I am off to the phone store to get a Smart Phone in the next few days.

Tolerations can include;

  • A lack of storage
  • Clients that don’t return e-mails or phone calls
  • Clutter
  • Equipment that needs fixing or replacing
  • Lack of staff
  • Slow internet connection
  • Unorganized closets or office

Tolerations distract you and keep you from growing. If you take the time to take a look at your tolerations, you will see that they are fixable. As you fix them you will find that you will lighten up because you are not burdened by playing the game of carrying around these incompletions in your head.

Playing the game of carrying incompletions in your head gives your fear based ego mind more energy to fuel the past mistaken belief that nothing is good enough or you are not good enough.

Tolerations hold us back and waste a lot of valuable time and energy which could be devoted to more productive pursuits.

Playing the tolerations game of putting up with things isn’t necessary.

It is a choice to eliminate the tolerations or to continue to play the game of beating yourself up for yet another thing that is incomplete in your life.
