A Slump Is The Same As A Dip

One of my great clients e-mailed me with these two questions;

  • How do I get out of a slump?
  • How do I get back in the groove?

Given that it is my understanding that you are in the middle of a campaign and it would be safe to say that you are exceeding your goals and burning the candle at both ends.

It is time to take some quite time and write out the list of the sales that you made, write out the difference that you made for your clients and write out how this made you feel.

This simple exercise will re-inspire you because all of your energy has been going out and you need to a little time to put some energy back in the tank to inspire yourself.

Every business requires an investment to re-charge the energy ever once in a while.

It is what Seth Godin talks about in The Dip and what Stephen Pressfield talks about in The War Of Art … in short, there will be ups and downs, there will be fear and avoid resistance at all costs.

Sometimes you have to go through The Dip and have a bigger Vision like Spencer Johnson talks about in Peaks & Valleys … if one doesn’t have a big Vision then one will be stuck in the Valley of fear.
