What Business Objective Is Your Social Media Plan Going To Support?

Sunday morning @ 8:30am ET at the Montreal airport waiting for a 10am flight to Toronto and then on to Calgary to speak at Hub Days in Calgary on the 26th, Victoria on the 27th and Vancouver on the 28th.

I’m 8 days into a 13 day, 8 financial advisor speaking presentation road trip for Great West Life, Hub Financial and London Life having completed speaking for:

  1. Great West Life in Montreal on the 18th
  2. Hub Financial in Montreal on the 19th
  3. Hub Financial in Toronto on the 20th
  4. Hub Financial in London on the 21st
  5. London Life in Montreal on the 22nd

Now that I have successfully completed three financial advisor speaking presentations in Montreal, I’m writing my wishes to return to Montreal to speak and to bring Laura with me on the next trip to enjoy the marvellous and spectacular city of Montreal along with my love. I’m taking the liberty to post a picture of this Ad that is on the wall beside me in the Montreal airport.

Your social media plan must be integrated with your business plan and your business plan will help you to answer these five questions:

  • Vision – What are you building?
  • Mission – Why does your business exist?
  • Objectives – What results will you measure?
  • Strategies – How will you build your company?
  • Actions – What is the work to be done?

There is an expression; “if you don’t have a vision and business plan, you will be living someone else’s”.

According to Geoff, social media is the same, either you are defining a social media definition of who you are or someone else may be doing it for you.
