Walking My Post Holiday Talk

Today is our first official day back to work since January 25th after an extraordinary 10 day sailing holiday on a 50 foot Catamaran in the British Virgin Islands. Here is a picture of Laura and I taken at The Baths on Virgin Gorda.

Rather than hitting the ground running, I’ve listened to my own advice about easing back into the work load.

I’ve observed many financial advisors over the years that take a holiday and upon their return, allow their business to run them with client meetings as soon as they get back.

This is because they didn’t block out their first few days after the holiday in advance of their holiday

This helps the financial advisor to get reacclimatized and refocused on their vision, business plan, project and client work enabling them to feel like they are running their business versus the business running them.

We have been back since February 9th.

We took the extra days from February 9th – 12th to reacclimatize from our 6500km / 4 time zone trip.

With a clear vision, this week will be about taking care of our clients and miscellanies business to-dos.

The week of February 20th will be soon enough to work on our vision, business plan and business building projects.

It makes no sense to feel like needing another holiday the day after getting back.
