The Only Thing That You Need Courage For Is Standing Still

Flashbacks-of-a-Fool-1“I used to think that the only thing that you needed courage for is going forward and then I learned that the only thing you need courage for is standing still” – adult Joe Scot played by Daniel Craig in Flashbacks Of A Fool

It is late Sunday afternoon and I have had a refreshing and reenergizing weekend with Laura that I have taken completely off … well nearly except for this blog and debriefing last week using the Empty Your Head Process.

Laura and I created the time for stillness by going to a yoga retreat for part of the weekend which was exactly what the doctor ordered … in a sense, taking a holiday after getting back from holidays followed by a full coaching week which was compounded with getting over 4 -5 days of jet lag.

BTW – Don’t get twisted out of shape by the word yoga 🙂 … if you are have trouble with the word yoga then call it strength training, stress release and stretching because … there are no fat and inflexible old men … they are all dead.

The stillness of the yoga helped me to get back to time consciousness.

Without time consciousness, I can easily get sucked into beliefs like ”I have too much to do” and “I’ll never get it all done” which is exactly where I found myself at the end of last week.

While I give myself top marks for the actions that I have been taking on a number of different fronts, I had completely forgotten the time management plan that I had pre-created for next week.

Now I am ready for Buffer Days on Monday, Thursday & Friday and Focus Days on Tuesday & Wednesday.

Buffer Days are a Dan Sullivanism meaning working on my business and I’ll use these days to re-identify with all my projects and time block them for success.

Focus Days are a Dan Sullivanism meaning working in my business and I’ll use these days to prospect and this includes going into downtown “Olympic” Vancouver on Tuesday to visit with COIs at Career Agencies and MGAs to talk about speaking and workshops.
