Please Investigate Computer

A frustrating start to the day at Leading Advisor as our main computer is down which is a symptom of a power outage that we had from high winds on Thursday.

Sidebar: Today is a full coaching day and I welcome working with others so I can pour my energy into adding value to someone else.

At the same time, today’s blog is on the main computer. So you are getting real life as it happens.

The computer is a hassle because we live in a very small town and we have to drive miles to a computer bench/technician. When we lived in the city, a computer technician was a phone call away and house calls were not a problem.

Here are the notes that I have prepared so that Laura can communicate with the computer technician.

May this be the power supply which is an easy fix.

Please Investigate Computer

Computer will not start which could be related to the power outage that we had last night. For more details see below.

DO NOT install Windows XP as a fix as there is 14 years worth of data on the hard drives. We have the data on a remote backup.

Note that there are 2 Raid Mirrored Formatted Hard Drives on the computer.

Suspect problem is the power supply or the mother board.

Please call Laura @ 250 248 6012 before any action is taken.

Re: Power Outage

We had a power outage last night.

When I came in the office this morning the computer seemed to be running as I could hear the fans.

I wiggled the mouse to wake up the monitors and they were receiving no signal – so no data on the screen.

I tried to shut the computer off using the button in the front and the computer would not shut off.

I pulled the plug.

I gave it a few minutes and put the plug back in.

The results were the same, the fans are running and there is no signal to the monitor.
