MDRT Two Thumbs Up

Two thumbs up from the MDRT Program Development Committee Members that attended my Breakthrough! How To Breakthrough The Plateauing Out Syndrome financial advisor speaking presentation at the Vancouver 2010 Million Dollar Round Table Annual Meeting.

A special thanks to Frank Allen, Bob Corrigan and Nelson Deslippe who are long time friends and clients for attending who also gave me my start working as a financial advisor coach … Laura told me that one of them told her that “we are so proud of Simon and amazed at how much he has accomplished”.

Another measure of success is there were a lot of really good questions at the end of my presentation and expressions of thanks and handshakes.

Speaking at the MDRT is considered to be the pinnacle for a financial advisor speaker and the results from yesterday’s financial advisor speaking presentation will last long into the future.

My ending remarks were to believe in attraction and write out your goals. I explained that I wrote down “speak at the MDRT Annual Meeting in Vancouver 2010” as one of the goals that I wrote down in December of 2008 in advance of 2009/2010. My friend Robert Gignac who is the author of Rich Is A State Of Mind and who spoke at the MDRT Annual Meeting in Indianapolis in 2009 recommended me to his MDRT Speaking Captain Greg Gagne and the rest is history … thank you Robert.

My intention as a result of speaking at the Vancouver 2010 MDRT Annual Meeting was to attract 1 overseas, 2 USA and 4 Canadian financial advisor speaking presentations.

Following my presentation I was invited to attend an MDRT Executive Committee Meeting where I had the opportunity to speak with Guy Baker, the current president of the MDRT and reacquaint myself with Walton Rogers the immediate past president and James Rogers the 2008 president. When you look up character and dedication in the dictionary, their pictures are there.

I had a great discussion with Julian Good Jr. of The MDRT Executive Committee about the MDRT Whole Person Initiative and I plan to offer some articles that can contribute.

The laws of attraction are absolute and if I write it, it will come into being so I am writing that I want to be blessed with the opportunity to speak at a future MDRT and the next meetings are in;

MDRT Annual Meeting

2011 — June 5 to 9, Atlanta, Georgia, USA

2012 — June 10 to 14, Anaheim, California, USA

Top of the Table Annual Meeting

2010 — October 6 to 9, Naples, Florida, USA

 MDRT Experience

2011 — February 24 to 26, Suntec City, Singapore

Like the MDRT Executive Committee Meeting on Monday, I had the opportunity to have a great conversation with the CEO of a life insurance company and this one happened to be overseas and one of his questions was;  “will you come to _________, would that be too far”?

I replied “I speak coast to coast in Canada from Victoria, BC to St. John’s, NL and when I was in Newfoundland, the Advocis Program Chair said to me that ‘you are closer to Ireland than you are to Toronto’”.

It’s 6am and Laura and I have to pack for our 5:30pm flight to Lake Tahoe via Salt Lake City. We will continue to talk with exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall to enquire if their financial companies hold educational conferences and do they bring in outside financial advisor speakers.

I have a book signing session in The MDRT Power Center from 12 – 1pm and then we will have lunch and head to the airport.

Thank you to The Million Dollar Round Table.
