How To Thrive In A Recession 2.0

It’s called How To Thrive In A Recession 2.0 because that’s what it is, my second version and it will be brand new!!

It’s 2:30pm on Saturday, May 17th and I am just talking a break from writing a brand new Power Point Presentation entitled How To Thrive In A Recession that I will be delivering on Tuesday, May 27th in Toronto at the Independent Financial Brokers Summit. Actually, I’m still doing research and I’ll write the Power Point Sunday / Monday.

I’ve loads of free time as Laura is visiting her Mom Helen in Victoria, BC and her cousins Michelle and Theresa are joining them heading up from Seattle. This is kind of cool because Laura, Michelle and Theresa are all the same age and grew up together in a sense connecting at lots of family events over the years … 🙂 … something that I didn’t get the experience of as I am an only child and our closest family is on the east coast of the US and in England and Ireland … so it is and only child weekend in a way … and I’m used to it and I’m over it although the house is quiet without Laura.

I’m going to take a break at 4pm and go for a cycle and then join our friends for dinner at the fire pit down on Craig, Bay.

The first day of sun after a very long spring with friends and fire on the Craig Bay Beach.

Sunday – 11:30am Research, research, research … and it is finished and I’ve read hundreds of articles from Advisors Only, Breathe Business, Harvard Business School, Horsesmouth, Profit Magazine and Seth Godin and now I am going to list the best of the best, categorize them and next step is to write my Power Point Presentation which will not get started until next week.

I’ve only got so much time and Mojo and I don’t want to burn myself out for next week.

Yesterday’s cycle was excellent and I think I will hit the pedals again and come back to the work listing the best of the best this afternoon and then I’ll end the day with a therapeutic massage at 5:30pm to get the knots out of my neck and back which are a residual from writing

Monday – 7:30am The massage was excellent and I was amazed at how much stress I wasn’t carrying even after not having a massage in months and I attribute this to daily meditation and having said this I am seriously considering joining the Yoga class that Laura goes to … ahg! Men in tights!

I was talking to a friend about the research and he said “you are going to acknowledge your sources aren’t you” and my reply was that it is all been said before and if I took the time to acknowledge the sources I would be going all the way back to The Holy Bible.

It is not so much that it has been said before; it is assembling the information in such a way that sings a song that the audience can hear. Ok, OK … Chris Barrow and Seth Godin do have some earth shattering thoughts that are worth the mention. At the same time, the thing that happens when one immerses themselves in all this knowledge, in my case about 12 hours so far, are the thoughts that come in from the collective consciousness as Einstein put it as all of these thoughts magnify more thoughts.

Laura will be home for lunch so I better continue as I am only half way through listing my research by idea and category so that I can sort it to write the Power Point.
