From 0 “Innertainment” To Warp 9 “Infotainment” In 1 Second … And Back

It’s ironic that I am sat here writing this blog at 6am on Friday morning Feb 5 after getting home last night at midnight from a 21 hour travel day returning from The British Virgin Islands via San Juan – Dallas – Vancouver.

The irony is that I committed to keep the Door Closed on the small picture things until Monday and only work on BIG picture things like Emptying My Mind & Journal into my One My Page Business Plan for a fresh start on the small picture things on Monday.

The Door Closed theme segways from my last blog before holidays on January 22.

  • Deadline because the plane is leaving, there is no looking back so we have to
  • Decide When to
  • Do It or
  • Delegate It or
  • Defer It or
  • Dump It and then it is
  • Done in our mind so that we can leave the business
  • Door Closed for the time that we are on holiday

I’m reflecting that I have remained committed to my integrity even at this hour as I managed to go into my office and get my laptop to write this blog without looking at the messages on my desk.

So what is the deal, why am I writing this blog?

Writing this blog is the very first thing that I am doing right after my meditation practice and I am embracing blogging as a form a practice or journaling and there are benefits for both you and I.

From 0 “Innertainment” To Warp 9 “Infotainment” In 1 Second … And Back is all about my experience of getting off the plane from San Juan in Dallas at 4pm CT yesterday.

As much as the 42” Infotainment monitors were everywhere you looked in San Juan, I managed to stay away from them after not hearing any news from January 22 on – no internet, newspapers, radio or TV for the best part of 14 days and then WHAMO! – Haiti, Iraq, MJ’s Doctor, Shootings, Sweat Lodge Guru, Tiger, Toyota, The Stock Market, Unemployment, Vancouver 2010, Vancouver Canucks and Winter Storms … and I am standing back thinking ( and it is hard to admit that my heart was racing ) “how do people do it with this constant and never ending bombardment of Infotainment?”

Actually a better question is; Why do we subject ourselves to the constant and never ending bombardment of Infotainment? I’ll leave the answer to that one for another day.

BVI 2010 All 420 So as my heart is racing because the Dilithium Crystals in my brain are melting down from too much Infotainment I yell, “Scotty, Transport me back to the Transporter Exercise that I did on the beach at Great Harbour, Yost Van Dyke in The BVIs …

 Transporter Exercise

Pick a time that you were in absolute harmony and write down and pardon the pun, Anchor into your heart by writing and saying the positive feelings that you are experiencing so that you can Transport yourself back to them when you are over stimulated with circumstances and information that can generate negative emotions.

 Our sailing holiday in the BVIs was the best holiday of our lives and whether we were at happy hour, at the beach, cooking and dining on the boat, dinning out, exploring, playing games, reading, relaxing, sailing, shopping, snorkelling or telling tall tales these are the feelings that I experienced and that I am Anchoring thought this writing;

I believe that thoughts and words are real forces and that they carry a vibration and they help us to maintain the vibration that we require to wade through too much Infotainment which could be taking its toll with compounded negative news … to stay out of it you have to create your own Innertainment .

My next step today will be to download our 580 photos from our trip and possibly edit and post them to FaceBook, unpack and look at the list of important matters that Tiffany prepared for me and deal with anything that is life and death and the rest can wait till Monday.

Thank you Tiffany for keeping everything ship-shape while Laura and I were on holiday.
