Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow, Yesterdays Gone

Friday night’s trip to Vancouver for dinner, Fleetwood Mac and a sleep over was great for a change as working from a home office can get a little bit too much of a routine.

We had a fantastic dinner at The Blue Water Café where Laura and I went on our first date nearly seven years ago and then strolled though our old YaleTown neighborhood on our way to GM Place.

Fleetwood Mac came on stage thirty minutes late, Mick Fleetwood’s drums were far too loud which overpowered the rest of the band, their energy was off and we later found out that Stevie Nicks was recovering from a cold and I’m sad to say that they looked tired an old.

So old the couple in front of us were Googling mid 1970’s pictures of the band in the hay days of Rumors adding to our experience of great seats near the stage and Jumbotron images.

I could start to hear the fait rumblings of my ego’s thoughts of “what a waist of time and money”.

Changing my mind instead to focus on the blessing of having a night in the city with Laura and practicing peace of mind in GM Place with nearly 20,000 fans.

The Googleidiots in front of us left after five or six songs and somewhere along the way Stevie Nicks said “let’s get this party started” and John McVie, Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham who goes beyond the definition of lead guitar/singer found their energy of yesteryear and brought it right into the now cause “Yesterday’s Gone” and gave us a show that Laura and I will always remember.

Yesterday’s Gone – Written by Christine McVie.

If you wake up and don’t want to smile,
If it takes just a little while,
Open your eyes and look at the day,
You’ll see things in a different way.

Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here,
It’ll be, better than before,
Yesterdays gone, yesterdays gone.

Why not think about times to come,
And not about the things that you’ve done,

If your life was bad to you,
Just think what tomorrow will do.

Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here,
It’ll be, better than before,
Yesterdays gone, yesterdays gone.

All I want is to see you smile,
If it takes just a little while,
I know you don’t believe that its true,
I never meant any harm to you.

Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow,
Don’t stop, it’ll soon be here,
It’ll be, better than before,
Yesterdays gone, yesterdays gone.

Don’t you look back,
Don’t you look back
