Coaching Doesn’t Work!

Coaching doesn’t work! In fact, nothing works! What works is YOU working what works!

It’s the end of RRSP Season in Canada and for some financial advisors it is the end and the beginning of another year.

Many financial advisors, the professional financial advisors are likely getting ready to take a break right about now because their RRSP work is complete and they have the final last minute details delegated to their assistant. They are fulfilled and inspired because they invested the early part of this year to complete their business plan, budget cash flow and time management plan.

Some financial advisors have their hair on fire and it is hard to help someone that has their hair on fire.

That is why I say “Coaching doesn’t work! In fact, nothing works! What works is YOU working what works!”

What are you choosing to do?

With the opportunity to begin the year anew after RRSP season will you:

• Invest the early part of this year to complete your business plan, budget cash flow and time management plan.

• Continue to run around with your hair on fire.

I say this because some financial advisors lay around all summer convincing themselves that no one wants to talk about financial planning / money during the summer months. Then some financial advisors feel like they are being shot out of a cannon right after Labour Day with their ballooning Line Of Credit statement in hand from the bills that have been created as a result of not working all that much over the summer because if you are not working, you are spending.

Then it is both feet on the gas until the holidays. The holidays provide just enough time to catch their breath between Christmas and New Years and then they start their New Year in a fog only to be captured by the RRSP Season.

If you are a financial advisor is any of this resonating with you?

Let’s pretend that I am the Ghost Of RRSP Seasons Past and I am inviting you to revisit the end of RRSP Season in 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999 … you get the picture.
