Book Writing Behavioral Style

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! 🙂

While I thought the book writing was finished our beloved book publishing project manager has offered some recommendations that to me turn the book upside down and inside out. At the same time, I’m taking the advise and doing my best to accept the changes and make the necessary changes.

The book changes aren’t the issue.

I’m heading into a coaching week where I use one component of my natural behavioral styles which are Active, Variety-Oriented, Demonstrative and Flexible.

The styles that I adapt to write the book are Patient, Consistent, Steady and Stable.

The two don’t mix.

Behavioral research indicates that it takes a considerable amount of energy to adapt one’s style and it takes time to make the adjustment to get into the flow. It can be done but don’t adapt too long or it will drive you loopy.

My hat goes off to anyone that has taken the book writing challenge because it takes a special commitment not for the faint of heart … kind of like public speaking which I have been known to adapt my style to from time to time 🙂 .
