Laura and I had a great trip to Kelowna. We talked with Alex Nicholson of Pro-Seminars as soon as we arrived about an early dinner in Kelowna and thought it best to take a rain check given that we had both been traveling all week.
We checked into our B & B and then went to set up our booth for the Advocis Pro-D Day on Friday.
While setting up our booth we met Doug Knight the Advocis North Okanogan Chapter President and Cheryl Hatfield the Chapter Administrator and were given a warm welcome. We also met and had a great chat with JoAnne Mulligan who was setting up a booth one over from us. JoAnne is Senior Consultant with Standard Life.
So with the booth set up we made our way back to the B & B with a plan to stop and have a casual dinner along the way back.
We were going to stop in at Cactus Club and noticed it was packed so we went to Montana’s across the street. We walked in the door only to run into Doug Knight, JoAnne Mulligan and Roland Clark who is the incoming Advocis North Okanogan Chapter President.
Our chance meeting and great dinner conversation was a real ice breaker and gave us the chance to get to know some of the people involved in the conference. Doug is an excellent Chapter President and has the organization of the Pro-D Days down to a fine art. It was also great to here from Roland that he had seen our material that was posted on FM Financial Management BC’s Web Site through the Education Days and E-Newsletter contributions that we have done for them through Nicky Sung.
We are feeling are real magnetism to the work that we are doing.
