Business Plan Myths

All business plans are in writing.
They must be long to be good.
Their primary purpose is to obtain financing.
It’s easier for others to write business plans.
You can and should do it by yourself.
It takes six months, a significant amount of executive and staff’s time, and expensive consultants.
If completed, it will sit unused on a bookshelf.
My practice is too small; business plans are for much bigger organizations.
I know where I am taking my business; I do not need a written business plan.
I can just pay for a consultant to write the plan for me; that will be good enough.
