It’s deadline day to get my comments back to our editor on the edited version of the book … not sure how long the day is going to be.
That Honda Generator that I am threatening to buy is looking more and more appealing as we had our third power outage in a week on Thursday night. One week after the first one that fried the power supply and mother board in our main computer.
We just go the computer back from the shop and the power went out while Simon Parsons was re-installing software, resetting the settings and installing the business version of the virus protection software that we use.
Reality is the infrastructure that was built during baby boom times along with us is all getting older and back up power and surge protectors are a must to protect the sophistication that we have created.
This is akin to financial services supplying Critical Illness, Disability Insurance, Life Insurance and Long Term Care. Don’t leave home without it.
Not having these systems in place is our responsibility.
I’m not looking to the government to reimburse me for the loss of our main computer system like some businesses are expecting from this week’s massive power outage in downtown Vancouver.
The new computer was protected by three surge protectors in last night’s power outage and it is working!
I am going to be contacting my insurance company because the main computer could not be fixed to the original standard and it is only Mickey Moused together for now.
