Recession is a choice and I’m just getting into a rant about what I have observed over the weekend.
One publication over the weekend had articles that talked about Canada’s finance minister Jim Flaherty’s predictions of 4% growth in Canada in 2010 and that the Canadian banks are starting to loosen the lending strings.
Then again, the guy on the street is saying that it is going to take until 2012 until we recover. Wait a second, wasn’t it last year that I heard that the world is going to end in 2012 when the Mayan calendar runs out. Some say that the Mayans were a godless tribe that worshiped gold.
Then the other day I heard that gold is going to $5 – $6,000 per ounce. Wasn’t there a fellow about 2,500 years ago raining hell down with tablets saying something about not worshipping golden calves?
Seems all very confusing god or gold? Just add or take away a little “l” – Love.
They say that there are only two emotions, fear and love. It is a choice to create your reality.
I saw two other publications over the weekend that featured the “new unemployed” and one featured a person that was a laid off management consultant and the other a laid off life insurance consultant.
In my view, if either the management consultant or life insurance consultant was choosing their state of mind on a daily basis, then they would be worth their weight in gold to their companies that they were associated with. If they were let go, then maybe they had employease waiting to be told what to do and maybe they should be in a different career. Strong and contributing employees don’t wait for the goals to be handed down from the top, they hand them up to the top.
One will either gain attention by joining a tribe of victims and sit around and talk about how times are tough or embrace the belief “if it is going to be, it is up to me”!
Which emotion are you choosing – love or fear?
