Thank you Nancy Kent, Stan Pappenfus and John Rees of Equitable Life Canada for the opportunity to speak at Equitable Life’s Leaders Conference in The Bahamas of Friday, April 20th, 2012.
For me, one of the highlights of the conference was the opportunity to sit in on an Advisory Council Panel Discussion that included; Mark Monoogian, Chad Martin and Stephen Devlin.
Here are the following points that stood out to me.
- You can’t be a one person show
- Replicate yourself
- Hire a personal assistant
- Hire a lead generator
- Focus on one area of expertise
- Do what you do best
- Attract a team that specializes in one area of expertise
- These points coincided with my opening remarks to my presentation.
For me, nothing works. There is nothing new. You have to be clear and focused about what you want. What works is me working what works. If you sit down in a restaurant and say “bring me what you have” when asked ” what would you like to order”, don’t get angry when they bring you leftovers.
