Every business exists for a reason. Good Mission Statements describe why your product, service, department, project, agency or practice exists. Great Mission Statements are short and memorable.
They communicate in just a few words (6 – 8 words are ideal) the company’s focus and what is being provided to customers. They always answer the question, “Why will customers buy this product or service?”
Some of the best Mission Statements are an integral part of a company’s branding strategy that compels customers to buy, but the same Mission Statements can and do direct and influence all significant management decisions.
I am speaking at the NAIFA Central Valley California Advisor’s Expo on Friday, November 15th, 2013 and part of my presentation includes how to create a Mission Statement using The One Page Business Plan.
I’ll include the Mission Statements of these companies in my PowerPoint as a number of the Expo attendees are affiliated with these fine companies. Mission Statements are powerful statements that remind everyone why these companies exist. Mission Statements also drive internal behavior and corporate decisions.
