Segwaying off of Spencer Johnson’s new book called Peaks and Valleys, Spencer talks about the notions of;
- Peaks – practicing with purpose, celebrating before going onto the next peak
- Valleys – practicing without purpose, complaining about what could have been
- Plateaus – practicing with purpose, practicing along the way
A Plateau is where one practices with purpose that includes giving thanks for what is versus the Valley complaining for what could have been.
Then there is Quicksand where one is so deep into negatives that they can’t see anything that is positive on the horizon which includes the July 28th news; The Case-Shiller U.S. Home Price Index assesses the first price improvement in three years.
I’m no economist but what I do know is that people have been sliding down the highs of the Economic Peak for two years now into what some believed to be Economic Armageddon.
We are on an Economic Plateau and it is just taking some time to realize that we have found more solid ground and it is not Economic Quicksand or falling back over the cliff into Economic Armageddon.
