Back from our road trip to visit with great friends and family and to purchase a new tablet pc and a new suit.
I’m settling in for a week of creativity. The highlights of which are working on the book, web site copy edits, October Advisor.ca article and Pro-Seminars Power Points for Las Vegas.
Here is the Sunday morning view out our window at The Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver and a reminder of the 44 inches of Vancouver rain fall per year versus the 37 inches that we experience in Parksville on Vancouver Island. The rain was even worse as we got a sample of Chilliwack’s 66 inches of annual rain fall as we drove through to visit my mother Irene in Agassiz on Sunday. The pic includes a view of the new Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre with its green roof and you can see the tip of the bow of a cruise ship sticking out past Canada Place. P.S. Don’t expect to get any service at The Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver if you book through Expedia if something goes wrong with the booking.
Simon Parsons met us at Future Shop where I purchased the HP Tablet PC and handed it over to Simon for setup and here is a cut and paste of the e-mail that I received from Simon on Monday morning. This is a demonstration of efficiency, delegation and the great service that Simon provides us with.
Hi Simon,
Here is what I did to prepare the tablet for you.
• Setup Email with Exchange
• Setup your email signature
• Copied over your Custom dictionary file from your main computer
• Copied over the file that has all your email addresses when you send out new email
• Backup is setup
• Logmein is installed
• All Windows and Office updates are installed
• Installed Office 2007 with PowerPoint
• Antivirus is installed
I left the original version of Vista on it, as it seemed to be working very well. I had no problems with it at all.
I think that is everything, let me know if you think I have missed something.
Best regards,
Simon
Now that is service!
I went over to purchase a Phat suit ( 2 button versus 3 button, no cuffs ) which is on the verge of being a Fat suit as working on the book all summer and not cycling due to a broken elbow is making me bigger than your average pick nick basket.
Thank goodness I had a already gotten back on the cycle three weeks ago and I’m committed to getting into better shape than ever over the upcoming months.
With the completion of the writing of the book, this trip didn’t turn out to be the usual working road trip and I got the chance to read the paper and look over Laura’s shoulder at Oprah’s Cure for Being Overwhelmed.
