Irene & Simon Reilly – August 25, 2007.
It’s 3:33pm PST on Saturday, August 25, 2007 and Laura and I are on the BC Ferry sailing from the Tswwassen Terminal ( South of Vancouver, BC on the BC Mainland ) to Duke Point Terminal ( North of Nanaimo, BC on Vancouver Island. )
We just come back from a great visit with my 87 year old mother, Irene who lives in an assisted living care facility in Agassiz, BC. Agassiz is about 80 miles East of Vancouver, BC which is near enough to the town where she has lived since 1959. Laura and I do not believe that it would to be to Irene’s best interest to move her to Vancouver Island as she is settled where she is as Irene is better off with the support the of professional care and the relationships that she has.
For Laura and I, this means from time to time, getting up at 4:15am to catch the first 1 ½ hour Ferry from Nanaimo, BC at 6:15am to Vancouver, BC followed by a 2 hour drive to Agassiz. So it is a long day for us depending on what time we leave for home from Agassiz.
While driving back towards Vancouver, I found myself in my head in complete travel mode unconsciously thinking that I had to get back because I have to travel some where else. This is not the case as I am home until September 8th when Laura and I leave for Las Vegas where I will speak twice on behalf of Pro-Seminars to 400 Financial Advisors.
