Spencer Johnson’s book “Peaks and Valleys” talks about Peaks, Plateaus and Valleys and here are my thoughts:
- Peaks – having a vision along with the mission, objectives, strategies and actions to get to the peak
- Plateaus – stopping to give thanks along the way
- Valleys – like Seth Godin talks about in his book The Dip, understand that any business that is worth having will have dips and valleys along the way and this is why it is important to have peaks and plateaus along the way
I returned on Thursday night, October 28th from a twelve day financial advisor speaking roadtrip presenting at Great West Life, HUB Financial and London Life at eight presentation s from Victoria, BC to Montreal, QC.
Segueing off of Spencer’s Peaks, Plateaus and Valleys, I’m offering Going Into The Cave.
The Cave is where I have been from Friday to Monday doing the following:
- Resting
- Emptying My Mind
- Giving thanks
- Defining:
- What worked on my trip?
- What didn’t work on my trip?
- What do I need to improve upon on my next trip?
- What is working in our business?
- What is not working in our business?
- What do we need to improve upon in our business?
- What make work activities have become redundant and need to be eliminated?
After a few days in The Cave, I’ve come out with renewed focus and energy to meet and exceed our dreams and goals and the dreams and goals of the clients that we serve.
