Following this week’s Blog of a play by play of a Coaching “Off Week” –
Yesterday’s Blog was about cleaning up my space, creating storage space and unpacking and setting up my office.
How great it felt this AM to walk into a clear and well organized office space.
So now that I am on this notion of clearing my space and following through on what I wrote in my Blog on June 1, 2006;
So today;
– which is 4 months after a major relocate
– and being on the road speaking
– and attracting an amazing amount of new business
This the day I clean up my office and my space.
I was thinking about different kinds of Projects;
– There are those that are Routine Projects, yet still very important like; Meeting With Team Members, Client Management, Following Up On Sales Enquires, Speaking Engagements, Finanacial Management – Payables & Receivables, E-Newsletters, Blogging etc.
– There are those that are Long Term Projects like; Writing A Book
– There are those that fall into the category of Improvement Projects like the Office Set Up & Storage Organize Project that I just finished that make us feel so good about our business.
I’m reflecting on how may more projects do I have that fall into the category of Improvement Projects? There are just three and these are;

I must say that these incompletes are really draining me of energy and something that I am going to do something about – stay tuned.

When mountain climbers climb a significant mountain like Mt. Everest or K-2, they make the climb in a series of climbs and use base camps between climbs to replenish their supplies, recharge their energy and upgrade or replace equipment.
We are at one of those base camps after a 4 month climb and while we have speaking opportunities from June through August, we are going to use the base camp analogy for June through August while we complete the following so that we are ready for the assent in September.

I took part of today to do an 18k ride; the last 8k was a steep hill on a 4 lane highway. As I peddled along that long and lonely hill I was joined by a couple of Monarch Butterflies. At one point on the hill, I look up and noticed that there were 3 cyclists ahead of me. A few minutes later I looked up again I noticed that I was really gaining on them. A race I thought and then I noticed that whey all had saddle bags and must doing a weekend trip – how energetic are they! I was really starting to gain on them and then I noticed the grey hair. They were all in their mid 60’s. As I passed, one of them said, you need some luggage on that thing. My hat goes off to them for it goes along with what they say that today’s 60 is yesterday’s 50 or this case 45. They are not retiring; they are reinventing which is near and dear to my heart because it is something that I work with people on every day.
