Fizziology

This story about employees at a Japanese Rail Company checking their grins using a Smile Meter reminds me of a Phone Power Course that I took back in 1987. All the participants received a mirror that they could put on the top of their desk to remind them to smile when they are on the phone.

My franchise days with Anthony Robbins & Associates taught me to take it a step further and to stand up during prospecting calls because;

  • Words represent 7% of Communication
  • Tonality represents 38% of Communication
  • Fizziology represents 55% of Communication

Energy is contagious and your communication will be magnified ten fold when you remember to stand up and smile when you are on the phone. Looking at it another way, you could be losing as much as 55% of your communication slouched over your desk.
