I felt very fortunate to have seen Michael Graham speak at the Advocis Winnipeg Spring Conference on April 13th, 2011.

Michael Graham Investment Services Inc. (MGIS) is a Toronto-based investment counselling firm launched by Michael Graham in late 2007. Through MGIS, Dr. Graham offers his services as an experienced counsellor and consultant to investors and advisors of all types. He is especially well-known for his descriptive writings and presentations, both of which continue to be made available through his company.
Michael’s business credentials include senior positions as Director of Research – Wood Gundy (1962-75), Chairman of the Investment Strategy Committee – Dominion Securities Pitfield and its predecessors (1976—85), Director of the Investor Support Group at Merrill Lynch Canada (1985-89), Senior Vice President and Director of Private Client Investing – Midland Walwyn Capital (1989 -98) and past Chairman of Heathbridge Capital Management Ltd., an Investment counseling and portfolio management firm, the predecessor to which he founded in 1998.
Dr. Graham is a respected investment spokesman both nationally and internationally. He has travelled extensively across Canada and globally. He is a long-standing Contributing Editor to “The MoneyLetter” and a columnist for Advocis “FORUM” magazine and has been a contributor to numerous financial and economic publications, as well as a frequent guest on television and radio.
Professionally, he assisted the Bryce Commission on Corporate Concentration (in the mid1970s), and the Department of Finance on a special assignment (in the early 1980s). Other memberships and involvements include the CFA Institute (previously AIMR) and the International Society of Financial Analysts, of which he was an original member), the Ticker Club of Toronto (of which he was President in 1994-95), and the Third Thursday Group of New York (from 1973), of which he is the lone Canadian.
Involvements outside the investment industry have included: Vice—Chairman, Senior Vice-President and Treasurer of the International Federation of Multiple Sclerosis Societies (1973-93), Canadian Governor of Goodenough College, a residential postgraduate university institution in London, England (1988 – 2004), Chair of the London Goodenough Association of Canada (2001-02), President of the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club (2003), and a Founding Director and Past-President of the University of Cape Town Foundation of Canada, 1998-99.
