Laura and I are just back online from a 16-day holiday staycation from email, social media and telephone calls, and we are rested, relaxed and recharged to begin 2015.
Over the years I’ve heard friends talk about their Bucket List and while the idea of a Bucket List is of interest, I’ve had so much on my plate I still won’t allow myself to engage in the idea of a Bucket List.
To me, our Values, Vision, Mission and Purpose are far more important than a Bucket List.
Our Values
- Attraction, Currency/Energy, Encouragement, Partnering/People, Professionalism/Quality/Service, Sense/Wisdom, Teaching Understanding/Empathy and Venture
Our Vision
- Our vision is to help our clients and their teams to feel fulfilled through the development, realization and enactment of their values, vision, mission and purpose. We define fulfillment as a deep, soul-orientated feeling that one experiences when they are expressing their values, and being themselves.
Our Mission
- Our mission is to help our clients and their teams to wholeheartedly engage in their businesses to identify, enjoy and profitably deliver their best talents for the benefit of their clients, teams and themselves.
Our Purpose
- Our purpose is to seek wisdom, enhance understanding and provide encouragement.
It is not to say that I have not done or am doing some things that are on some people’s Bucket Lists and these include; 16-day holiday staycation from email, social media and telephone calls, 10,000 foot skydive complete with a double compound fracture on my left ankle, speaking in front of 1000 people, publishing a book, and supporting the education and health of children in third world countries.
I researched Bucket List over the holidays and again I just won’t allow myself to get to my Bucket List until I complete the following Empty My Bucket List;
- Complete Leading Advisor 7 Step Coaching Program to include articles, assignments and PowerPoints;
- Complete our Financial Plan to 2062
- Consistently Debrief my weeks on Friday afternoons

Sometimes it’s not about adding more things to your list, it is about emptying the list that you already have. To this end, one of the things that I did over our 16-day break from emails, social media and telephone calls was to take everything out of my office. The only things that went back into my office after a thorough cleaning are things that I currently use, books that are related to the financial advisor niche, and mementoes.
You are the vessel through which all communication flows. If your vessel is full, there’s no room for anything else. Having said this, once the 18 Items on my Empty My Bucket List are complete, there will be some Extraordinary things to add to My Supersonic Bucket List which will include;
- European Viking River Cruise
- Learn Martial Arts ( not for self-defense, but for the discipline and I figure this will go along well with the six years of yoga that I have underneath my belt )
- Visit my Teachers in personal, professional and spiritual development
Happy New Year!
