Its 12:45pm on Tuesday, June 8th and taking this opportunity to journal about my own behavioural awareness.
As much as I tried, The Artist in me wanted to do nothing this morning but put the finishing practice touches on my financial advisor speaking presentation for the MDRT on June 15th and I didn’t even touch it.
Instead, The Hunter in me worked on some advance logistics that I could note delegate that just had to be done for the Sun Life Sales Congress financial advisor speaking presentations that The Evangelist in me will be doing in Toronto on June 21st and Winnipeg on June 24th. After this was completed, I prepped for my afternoon telephone coaching calls.
At 12:45pm The Hunter in me is looking for the next target which could be putting the finishing practice touches on my financial advisor speaking presentation for the MDRT but …
I could or would be allowing The Ego or The Lizard or The Boxer to take charge here by choosing another target and instead I’m choosing The Artist and The Carpenter in me as I have a half day and a full day of coaching ahead of me and I have half an hour for the this blog / journaling. My Buffer Days on Thursday and Friday will be soon enough for The Artist to get back to the MDRT practice.
The Zombie can wait.
Where will The Philanthropist show up?
All of this reminds me of the coolest quote I’ve heard in a long time; Gordon Downie of The Tragically Hip being interviewed on The CBC June 7, 2010 about his new solo DVD “I do a lot of homework so that I can be lucky to make spontaneous correct decisions”.
Thank you to Seth Godin for the definitions of The Ego, The Lizard, The Artist, The Boxer, The Zombie, The Carpenter, The Philanthropist, The Evangelist and The Hunter in; Is this noise inside my head bothering you?
