This week marks a number of 5th anniversaries that include:
- Laura and I moving to Parksville, BC on Vancouver Island from Downtown Vancouver.
- My first financial advisor speaking presentation for Pro-Seminars.
A lot has happened since January 2006.
If you are an entrepreneur, I’m sure that you can relate to me thinking “how am I going to build a financial advisor coaching & speaking business while waking up every morning unemployed living in the middle of nowhere”.
Along the way I’ve been fortunate to be supported by my loving wife Laura who is the foundation of Leading Advisor.
We’ve been blessed to be working with business coach Chris Barrow who told me way back when to “go out and speak to 10,000 financial advisors” soon after completing our Leading Advisor website, starting our blog and creating the Clear Your Roadblocks financial advisor speaking presentation.
Thanks to Tom Miller, Alex Nicholson and Adam Wyrcimaga for the opportunity to get out there in front of 10,000 financial advisors right across Canada over the past 5 years.
A special thanks to my friend and mentor Pat Finucane who first showed me the One Page Business Plan in December of 2009 saying “the One Page Business Plan is going to change your business” and it has in so many ways.
The One Page Business Plan is magnifying our vision, helping us to improve our focus and attracting new though leading opportunities because our minds are not cluttered with keeping track of things and this gives us added energy to stay committed to consistent action and celebrating along the way.
Today ( Tuesday, January 18th ) I’m out there in Edmonton breaking new ground with Pro-Seminars introducing another 10,000 financial advisors to the One Page Business Plan with current speaking dates of; Vancouver January 14th, Edmonton January 18th and Calgary January 19th and today is unique as I was the 9am MT financial advisor speaker at Pro-Seminars and I had an 11am MT Webinar to facilitate, both on the One Page Business Plan.
2011 is coming in with a roar for Leading Advisor with financial advisor speaking presentations and webinars, our one on one coaching practice is brimming with clients, our Webinars on the One Page Business Plan are filling up, we were just invited to speak at a national financial advisor conference in the USA and Laura just booked the Advocis Spring Conference in Winnipeg on April 13th.
On top of that, I just found out that I made the final round of Advisor.ca’s Visionary Poll!
A great start to the year marking these 5th anniversaries.
Simon Reilly Makes The Final Round Of Advisor.ca Visionary Poll!
Dear All,
I’ve made the final round for Advisor.ca’s ‘Name That Visionary Poll’.
The Advisor.ca ‘Name That Visionary Poll’ started last April. The first step was nomination, the second step was shortlisting the top twenty and this final round is choosing a winner from the top ten so please click here to cast your vote for me.
There are two ways I could have played this:
- Pretending to be a shy and demure Canadian, because that is what Canadians do, in the hope that people will vote anyway – ”I don’t take part in these celebrity competitions because it’s beneath me”
- Bold, outrageous and provocative – ”asking for the business” – vote for me because I love the exposure!
Another reason that I am doing this is to demonstrate the power of E-Nurture Marketing & Social Media as you are a reader of my Blog or E-Newsletter and we were initially introduced through financial advisor speaking or via the internet.
Honestly, it would cost tens of thousands to receive the exposure that this poll can create.
So I’m asking for your help.
The next step is to vote for one of the top ten finalists and you can do this by CLICKING HERE & PLEASE VOTE FOR ME.
Again, why am I asking?
■ The exposure is absolutely great for my professional career development
■ The publicity is a vindication for all the hard work done with clients and the philosophy and ideas that we share in these and other pages
■ The encouragement to me to keep fighting the fight for quality career and independent financial advisors
■ My coaches and mentors all get to take a break as my unmet need of recognition is satisfied

Please note that given Advisor.ca is a publication for financial and investment advisors, I humbly submit that I do not profess to be a Financial or Investment Visionary as far as financial planning, products and services.
If one were to see me as a Visionary it may be because of doing my best to walk my talk as a Financial & Investment Advisor Coach, Speaker & Writer that uses systems like a E-Nurture Marketing & Social Media in their own practice and this is why I suppose I gained the nomination in the first place for Advisor.ca Visionary Poll.
