I had the luxury of cycling around the sea wall on Saturday morning. Along the way there is a fallen log and the most amazing array of golden orange mushrooms that have sprouted all along the log.
This reminded me of a quote that I use as part of the introduction in my workshops;
– It takes 2 days to grow a mushroom
– It takes 80 years to grow an oak tree
Even though the tree may have fallen, the roots still remain.
In this day of the “instant gratification – drive through society” it truly amazes me how addicted people are to the quick fix.
There is no quick fix to creating strong roots and a strong foundation for your business and life to build on.
The mushrooms may look amazing on the surface but there is no foundation and they will be destroyed as soon as some mischievous person comes along.
