I purchased my first copy of Zoomer magazine over the weekend because the following lead article caught my eye by Zoomer Founder Moses Znaimer; Dust Off Those Resumes And Reset The Alarm – The World Needs Zoomers Back At Work Now

Aside from the significant economic benefits that Znaimer points out in the article these are the points that stood out to me:

• As early as 2020, Canada will have a shortfall of 1,000,000 workers
• The longer people live, the more drain they are
• The imperative to work tells us that we are needed
• 70% of Canadians plan to work past the traditional retirement age of 65
• 72% of Canadians said they want to remain mentally active
• 57% want to stay socially connected
• The earlier people retire, the quicker their memories fail
• Newly retired persons report significantly more friction with their partners than people who are still working
• Zoomers want to leave a legacy though the contribution of work

In my mind, this is about continuing to reach fulfillment which is the grand daddy of all values; a deep, soul-orientated feeling that one experiences when they are expressing their values, and being themselves.
