What Were My Expectations?

The Compassionate Advisor financial advisor speaking presentation is in the books having completed my first version of this presentation to The Independent Financial Brokers Summit in Calgary on April 22nd.

As I write this, I feel like I should label this blog The Honest “Leading” Advisor.

How am I feeling?

  • Complete in that it had to be done.
  • Confirmed in that this is the 3rd Spring IFB Calgary Summit that I have spoken at and I was unwilling to deliver the same presentation from the year before.
  • Released because The Compassionate Advisor was all about the transferrable skills that I have learned over the course of the past two months while my mom has been recovering from a respiratory problem, a broken leg and a heart attack.
  • Fulfilled because it was a success and the reason that I know this is the audience had 101% eye contact with me during the presentation.
  • Intrigued because ninety percent of the audience had seen me speak before and they were willing to invest their time at a financial advisor conference in a presentation entitled The Compassionate Advisor.
  • Relieved because creating a new PowerPoint is a ton of work and this one was on its way to becoming a book if I were to choose.
  • Thankful because I sold 15 books and a highly qualified prospect wants to have a client conversation.
  • Honest because a part of me was disappointed with the turnout of 60 versus 280 standing room only last spring.
  • Aware that I already knew that the turnout was going to be lower because of the title.
  • Questioning did I create the lower attendance by allowing this limiting belief to creep in and for not setting the intention for the attendance that I wanted to create.
  • Deliberate because compassion was what I had been working on when it came time to chose a new title.
  • Inspired because I am moving on to creating The Six Degrees Of Life Insurance Connection.
  • Appreciative for the kind words from the audience and these are a few of the testimonials;

“Finally psychology is being recognized as being an important part of the product.”

“The honesty of the presenter. You bared your soul and allowed me to see that it is okay”
