It’s 2:30pm MT Sunday, August 4, 2013 and Laura and I are returning from an 8-day retreat at Choose Again’s El Cielo Retreat Center in Costa Rica founded by my old friend Diederik Wolsak.
Laura and I are on a flight from Liberia, Costa Rica to Newark, NJ. We have a 12-hour layover at Newark and we will get some sleep at the Newark Liberty Airport Marriott and then catch a Monday, 7:45am ET flight to Vancouver and then on to Nanaimo arriving at 12:30pm PT.
I’m writing to debrief my experience at Choose Again to confirm for myself and communicate my experience because friends will be asking me the following;
Why did you attend Choose Again?
What did you experience?
What did you learn?
What did you let go of?
The pictures are of yours truly while out at a restaurant in Costa Rica, Lake Arenal from the hills above El Cielo, Laura and Diederik at the volcanic hot springs, Laura and I at El Cielo and Diederik and I.
Why did you attend Choose Again?
With 30,000 + hours of coaching and speaking experience one is bound to be reminded and reminded and reminded of their own and others core limiting feelings, limiting beliefs and their origin to the point where it can be consuming. I do work on a daily basis to correct my mistaken perceptions but after a while, with enough exposure to the feelings and limiting beliefs of others, the veil between one’s conscious and subconscious, what is real and unreal can get thin and it can sometimes feel like herding cats while riding a pig. To add to this, I hit a wall expanding my comfort zone outside of the financial advisor niche during the preparation of The Inspirational Tipping Point TedX Talk that I did in April of 2013 so it was time for; “Healer, heal thyself!”
So segueing following the title of The Hobbit – There And Back Again to There And Back To Choose Again, I felt it was time to re-visit the Attitudinal Healing Process that I have been working with since 1993 outside of the distractions and the norms of my day to day via an 8-day visit with my old friend Diederik Wolsak and his team.
Diederik and I met at an Attitudinal Healing 3-Day Workshop back in 1995 that I was doing the marketing for. Since then, Diederik has refined himself and re-mastered the Attitudinal Healing Process to an entirely new level that he delivers through worldwide one-on-one sessions, workshops and residential retreats at the El Cielo Retreat Center in Costa Rica.
