This blog marks 25 blogging / working days till Christmas and our return to work after an eight day holiday in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
Our trip to Mexico was inspired:
- After Laura and I looked at each other a week after Labour Day and felt like we didn’t have a long enough summer which was partly because of my financial advisor speaking schedule
- In hind sight, by my financial advisor speaking schedule that had me on the road for 20 days of the last 28 days before we left for Mexico speaking to over two thousand financial advisors at twelve different locations
As we approach the end of the year, the theme for most of my blogs for the rest of the year will be 2011 planning strategies.
My 2011 planning blogs will be a mash up of both old and new strategies to help you to set the stage to make 2011 your best year ever.
On a personal note, our eight day holiday in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico was absolutely fantastic.
We stayed at a private condo that we rented from Josie & Mike at Villa Magna that shares the same site as Dreams Villa Magna.
Josie and Mike were fantastic hosts and provided us with many helpful insights about the surrounding area and their gift of the tamales from the church ladies at the local market were fantastic.
Their spacious one bedroom condo was everything that was advertised with an 8th floor balcony beach / pool / ocean view, full sized living / dining room and kitchen, king size bed and full bath with a walk in shower with loads of hot water.
Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico averaged 29 degrees C, it was 101% safe to walk the streets day or night and one can walk the beach for miles and miles.
The Villa Magna sharing the same site as Dreams Villa Magna was an added bonus with a staff that went out of their way to make you want to come back, a full spa with an 80 minute couples massage two-for-one, full gym to keep up with cardio, Yoga on the beach every morning for Laura, beach front swimming pools and the opportunity to participate in their daily all inclusive drinks and meals package at their five restaurants for far less than what one would pay for one meal at an outside restaurant.
I had an old belief that a one week holiday just isn’t long enough and that belief has now changed as Laura I received all the quality time we needed to relax and recharge our batteries.
This holiday was the best value added holiday that we have ever been on with our flights on points, a very reasonable condo rate from Josie and Mike along with the opportunity to participate in Dreams Villa Magna’s daily all inclusive drinks and meals package.
Laura and I will be booking a number of one week holidays in 2011.
