My 20,000km trip of a lifetime is nearing an end speaking in California, London & Toronto, Ontario combined with visiting our Compassion sponsored children in Ecuador with Laura. But this is not the end. It is one thing to sponsor a child that one might write a letter to once a year, another to visit the child, and yet another to visit the child and their family. It’s another to experience first hand the family’s pain while they shared their story of how Elizabeth and Michael witnessed the vehicle death of a husband and a father while Elizabeth was pregnant with Kayla. It’s yet another to experience the sadness of a little boy in the absence of his father and the expressed joy of a mother telling you that her prayers for a Compassion sponsor for Michael had been answered. Laura and I went to Ecuador to meet Andrea and Michael, the children that we sponsor through Compassion. We came away with the joy knowing that our sponsorships are making a difference to their families. Pictured here are Michael, Elizabeth and Kayla.
